  • We are looking for people who want to get very good at helping children.
  • We are MindfulBear, a specialist child counselling centre for children and teens between 5 and 18.
  • Wed to Sun (5-day week), closed on public holidays. 11am to 8pm on weekdays, 9am to 6pm on weekends.
  • 2 locations: Bendemeer/Lavender MRT or Marine Parade MRT.
  • Up to SGD 3,800 monthly plus incentives, depending on experience.
  • Your own counselling room.
  • Supervision is scheduled, outcomes are tracked, and your manager occasionally sits in to coach you.

Job scope

  • Provide direct clinical services to children and youths through counselling and group work.
  • Work with parents and children to develop effective strategies.
  • Implement and follow up on care plans and interventions.
  • Participate in case conferences with the team, schools and external agencies.
  • Run group programmes and workshops in primary and secondary schools.
  • Not in your scope: chasing referrals, marketing yourself, billing, invoicing, or booking admin.

Requirements

  • Must be Singaporean or PR.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Counselling or Psychology.
  • Two years of counselling experience, or equivalent hands-on experience working with children. If you have come from childcare, teaching or another child-facing role, we want to hear from you.
  • Additional qualifications in CBT, play therapy, behaviour management, case management or group work are beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred to communicate with Mandarin-speaking parents.

  • You can compartmentalise. You will hear things about children that stay with you, and you need to be able to put them down at the end of the day.
  • You see yourself as a facilitator, not an expert. The parents know their child better than you do. Your job is to help them with their child's challenges, not to hand down instructions from above.
  • You see this as a craft. You want to get good, not just get through. You would rather be told what you got wrong than be left alone to repeat it.
